Welcome!
This website is for College of Wooster students who are partially through their semester abroad. This is your mid-semester self-assessment module, through which you can reflect on your time abroad until now and think intentionally about the rest of your semester. Study abroad brings a slew of new challenges and opportunities: from intercultural exchange and culture shock to language acquisition and personal development. In many ways, your time abroad is what you make it. While your host country and your program do affect your experience, in the end you (yes you!) are the one with the most power. I invite you to use this website to understand the privilege associated with studying abroad and to think critically about what it means to be globally engaged.
Learning Modules
In this section, you can go through a linear learning path about confronting privilege, developing empathy and building dialogue
The further readings section has articles, videos, and blogs with tons of information about many of the concepts we talk about on this website. Community Forum
Missing a close community from home can be the hardest part of going abroad, and finding one abroad can be the hardest thing about leaving! If you're missing your community (and I don't mean the TV show), check out the forum, where you can hear from with fellow Wooster students and respond to prompts.
